Who I am
I'm Ugo Verzi Borgese, French, based in Oviedo. I make portraits outside the studio, walking, talking, letting the light do its work.
The sentence I hear most often at the end of a session is always the same: "It's the first time I actually like a photo of myself." I'm not here to make you look like someone else. I'm here to photograph the person you already are, once you stop performing.
How I work
- No studio, no posing No flash, no rehearsed poses. We walk through a spot we choose together in Oviedo or nearby, and within five minutes you forget the camera is there.
- A conversation, not direction We talk about anything while we walk. That's where the photos that matter start to happen, once you stop thinking about how you look.
- Asturias as a studio I arrived two years ago and never left. I know the spots where the light works best: a quiet park at 6pm, a backlit street in the old town, the coast when the sky is grey.
